Start taking Control - Why not meter your racks?
Are you aware what current is actually being drawn by each rack? Concerned that the circuit breaker might trip when you have to power on an extra piece of equipment? By including a Spook Digital Current Meter in the PDU you can start to better understand the current being consumed in each rack. Taking one step further to the Spook Digital Power Meter will give not only AMPS but other useful power metrics such as VOLTS, WATTS and POWER FACTOR.
AMPS - Displays Current Draw in Amps RMS
VOLTS - Displays Voltage RMS
WATTS - Displays power in Watts RMS. Value is integration of instantaneous Volts and instantaneous Current, referred to as Real Power
POWER FACTOR - The ratio of Real Power to Apparent Power. The latter is a calculation of Volts RMS and Amps RMS. By comparing values on the meter, the energy provided can be compared to energy actually used. This is represented in the form of a number between 0 and 1, with 1 being 100% efficient and 0 being 0% efficient
